How to tell Pip about your day

2 min · Shown on a phone · Captions on · Transcript below

On the Pip tab, tap the box at the bottom. Write what you noticed, in your own words. One line is enough. Pip turns it into an observation, and may ask a question to understand more. On the move, tap the microphone and speak instead. Tap Sources under a reply to see what Pip looked at.

Good to know: Pip is not a doctor. People in your village may be able to see your observations. It depends on what you let each person see.

Pip is the helper inside Understanding Zoe. You can tell Pip how your day went, set a goal, ask a question, or find something to read. Here is how.

0:15Finding Pip

Pip lives on the Pip tab, the home screen of the app. At the top, you'll see your own name. That's how you know you're on your own profile.

0:24Telling Pip about today

Let's tell Pip about today. Tap the box at the bottom and write what you noticed, in your own words. One line is enough. Pip turns it into an observation. Pip may ask a question to understand more. Just answer, like you would a friend. Pip adds what you say to the same observation, so nothing is logged twice.

0:45Using your voice

On the move? Use your voice. Tap the microphone and speak. You can pause to think. Tap the microphone again, then send.

0:54Setting a goal

Pip can do more than notes. Ask Pip to add a goal, and it makes one for you. Tap the plus button to see everything else Pip can help with.

1:03Asking Pip a question

You can also just ask. Pip looks at what you have logged and answers. Pip is not a doctor. Think of Pip as a well-informed friend who knows you.

1:14Finding something to read

Want to learn more? Ask Pip for something to read. Pip suggests guides and articles that fit what's going on for you.

1:22Seeing where an answer came from

Curious where an answer came from? Tap Sources under Pip's reply. You'll see what Pip looked at. Some guides are written about children, and Pip picks out the parts that fit you. A line a day is plenty. Looking back on what you've logged makes it easier to notice what helps.

1:39Your past chats

Your past chats are under the history button. People in your village may be able to see your observations. The village video shows how to choose what each person sees.

Does Pip remember what I tell it?

Yes. Pip keeps a list of important facts on each profile. The list grows over time. Ask Pip what it knows, and correct anything that is out of date.

Does Pip ever get things wrong?

Yes. Pip can miss context or misread a pattern. Tell Pip when something is wrong, and it updates what it remembers. Treat its ideas as things to try, never as instructions.

Is Pip a therapist or a doctor?

No. Pip is not a therapist, a counsellor or a doctor. It helps you organise, notice patterns and prepare. For medical questions, speak with your GP or your prescriber.

Do you use my data to train AI?

No. Your data is never used to train the AI model. To answer you, Pip sends your message and recent context to our AI provider. They work under a written agreement, and they do not keep your chat history.

Still stuck? Our help page has more answers, and a real person reads every message.
