Good to know: People in your child's village may be able to see the observations you log. It depends on what you let each person see.

Pip is the helper inside Understanding Zoe. You can tell Pip what happened today, set a goal, ask a question, or find something to read. Here is how.
0:14Finding Pip
Pip lives on the Pip tab, the home screen of the app. At the top, you will see your child's name. That is how you know whose profile you are on.
0:24Telling Pip about today
Let's tell Pip about today. Tap the box at the bottom and write what you noticed, in your own words. One line is enough. Pip turns it into an observation. Pip may ask a question to understand more. Just answer, like you would a friend. Pip adds what you say to the same observation, so nothing is logged twice.
0:45Using your voice
Hands full? Use your voice. Tap the microphone and speak. You can pause to think. Tap the microphone again, then send.
0:55Setting a goal
Pip can do more than notes. Ask Pip to add a goal, and it makes one for you. Tap the plus button to see everything else Pip can help with.
1:05Asking Pip a question
You can also just ask. Pip looks at what you have logged and answers. Pip is not a doctor. Think of Pip as a well-informed friend who knows Mia.
1:16Finding something to read
Want to learn more? Ask Pip for something to read. Pip suggests guides and articles that fit what is going on for Mia.
1:24Seeing where an answer came from
Curious where an answer came from? Tap Sources under Pip's reply. You will see what Pip looked at before it answered. A line a day is plenty. The more you tell Pip, the more patterns it can spot for you.
1:38Your past chats
Your past chats are under the history button. People in Mia's village may be able to see the observations you log. The village video shows how to choose what each person sees.
Common questions
Does Pip remember what I tell it?
Yes. Pip keeps a list of important facts on each profile. The list grows over time. Ask Pip what it knows, and correct anything that is out of date.
Does Pip ever get things wrong?
Yes. Pip can miss context or misread a pattern. Tell Pip when something is wrong, and it updates what it remembers. Treat its ideas as things to try, never as instructions.
Is Pip a therapist or a doctor?
No. Pip is not a therapist, a counsellor or a doctor. It helps you organise, notice patterns and prepare. For medical questions, speak with your GP or your prescriber.
Can I use the app in my language?
Yes. Write to Pip in the language you prefer, and Pip replies in that language. Reports are written in English by default, because services usually ask for it. Ask Pip if you want one in another language.
Still stuck? Our help page has more answers, and a real person reads every message.
