2 min · Shown on a phone · Captions on · Transcript below

On the Pip tab, tap the plus button. Take a photo, choose one from Photos, or pick a file. Pip writes a short, plain summary and saves the document to your child's records. To add emails, tap the plus button, then Email to Pip. Nothing from an email is added until you approve it.

Using Understanding Zoe for yourself? The steps are the same on your own profile.

Good to know: People in your child's village may be able to see these records. It depends on what you let each person see.

Letters, reports and school emails add up fast. Understanding Zoe keeps them with Mia's records, where Pip can read them and help. Here is how.

0:15Adding a letter or report

Got a letter or a report? On the Pip tab, tap the plus button. Take a photo with Camera, choose one from Photos, or pick a file.

0:25Pip's plain language summary

Pip reads the whole letter and sums it up in plain language: the supports the therapist suggests, and what Mia said she wants.

0:33Pip adds details from the letter

Pip saves the letter to Mia's records. It can also add what the letter mentions, like support ideas or the next appointment, so you don't have to type it in.

0:44Forwarding emails to Pip

Emails work too. Tap the plus button, then Email to Pip. Mia's profile has its own address. Forward emails from school or therapists to it, from your usual email app.

0:56Approving an email first

When an email arrives, it waits for you on the Pip tab. Tap it, and Pip shows you a short summary first. Nothing is added until you say so. Tap Approve email, and Pip pulls out the dates, reminders and support ideas. Tap the cross on anything you don't need.

1:15Asking Pip about your documents

Later, just ask. Pip brings the school email and the therapist's letter together to plan carnival day. Pip is not a doctor; think of it as a friend who has read the paperwork. Snap a letter or forward an email whenever one arrives, and it's kept with Mia's records. You'll find them all under Records, on Mia's tab. People in Mia's village may be able to see them, depending on what you let each person see.

Can Pip read documents I upload?

Yes. Pip reads PDFs, images and Word files. It pulls out the useful parts and saves them as a record.

Does Pip ever get things wrong?

Yes. Pip can miss context or misread a pattern. Tell Pip when something is wrong, and it updates what it remembers. Treat its ideas as things to try, never as instructions.

What can a supporter see?

Only what you allow. You set nine categories to None, View or Full for each person. You can also hide a single item from chosen people.

Still stuck? Our help page has more answers, and a real person reads every message.
